Some parts tend to lift or move during reflow. A surface mount process carrier can alleviate this problem with the use of a reflow bar. The bar is designed to be installed after placement, right before reflow. It secures component placement and orientation in one easy step. The application in this photograph called for a reflow bar to hold down some emi/rfi fencing around the perimeter of the board. The bar registered to the fixture and the PCB using tooling pins in the bar which engaged tooling holes in the fixture.
