Pictured here is an aluminum bottom support plate and a top tool built to insert a connector that had two different pin heights. The pin height pattern alternated in both the x and y directions. Because of that, we manufactured an insertion tool that incorporated the use of plates or blades. The blades had the pin height pattern machined into it and then were installed into the tool block in alternating directions. This allowed each pin to be supported during insertion. We were able to deliver this tool within one week.
