Along the Road...

Pentagon EMS today is the result of the vision and dedication of its founders, the continued encouragement and loyalty of its satisfied customers, and the focus and work ethic of its employees. All of these are components which have combined to make Pentagon a global leader in the PCB assembly tooling market. Here is a little look back at the past and how we got here, as well as a glimpse at what may be to come. The solid foundation of our past provides the strength needed to guide us toward an even more successful future.

Humble Beginnings Late 2002

The Pentagon idea was conceived in July, and born in September of the same year. The shop wasn't much to look at in the early days, and there were no employees besides owners at that point. Here are some photos from the historical archives.

First Employees Early 2003

By February 2003, customer demand had increased to the point that additional employees were beginning to be needed. By July, the company was 9 strong (5 owners, 4 employees), and by the end of 2003, there were finally more employees than owners (5 owners, 6 employees).

Moving Early 2004

Additional equipment aquisition and increasing personnel numbers soon made it necessary to move Pentagon EMS into a larger facility. A 5000 sq ft shop was aquired, doubling the previous facility size. This new facility provided the necessary room for the next stages of growth. By the end of 2004 there were 15 employees.

The huge feeling quickly disappeared, and by the end of 2005 the number of employees had grown to 25.

Expanding Early 2006

By the end of the first quarter of 2006, Pentagon was again ready to bust out at the seams. This time, it was possible to expand into an additional 5000 sq ft of manufacturing space adjacent to the current location. Again, this additional floor space doubled the previous confines, providing Pentagon 10,000 sq ft of room with which to conduct business. By the end of the year, 35 employees were on the Pentagon EMS roster.

Even More? May, 2007

As the scope of Pentagon's manufacturing capabilities increased, customer requests for more quantities and varieties of machining projects increased as well. Contracted orders were placed which required dedicated machinery. This made it necessary to procure another 2500 sq ft of manufacturing floorspace. This floorspace is dedicated to two CNC milling centers to accomplish that work.

South of the Border June, 2007

Desire to avoid customs-related shipping delays combined with the influence of Pentagon's Mexican customer base resulted in the installation of a satellite manufacturing facility located in Juarez, Mexico. Having this facility up and running will provide better, faster service to all electronics manufacturing facilities located in Mexico.
